Location: Hybrid - Requirement to be Pieta Head Office 2/3 days per week
Position Type: Permanent Monday - Friday 9am-5pm Location: Hybrid Role 2 days onsite at Pieta Head Office, Tallaght Hours: Full-time permanent contract, Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000

Role & Responsibilities:

The People Operations Specialist plays a key part in the day-to-day delivery of HR services, offering expert advice and hands-on support across areas such as employee relations, occupational health, health and safety, performance management and policy administration.

The successful candidate will ensure that people processes are applied consistently and compliantly, in line with organisational values, while supporting managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations (ER)

  • Manage employee relations cases including absence, conduct, capability, performance, and grievance matters

  • Provide practical, timely advice to managers on ER issues in line with policy, employment legislation, and best practice

  • Draft ER documentation including investigation reports, outcome letters, and meeting notes

  • Support and guide managers through formal and informal processes

  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases appropriately

Occupational Health (OH) & Wellbeing

  • Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and manage ongoing cases

  • Interpret OH reports and support managers with recommendations and reasonable adjustments

  • Monitor long-term absence and support return-to-work planning

  • Maintain accurate OH records in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements

Health & Safety

  • Support day-to-day health and safety administration and compliance

  • Coordinate risk assessments, including pregnancy and workplace risk assessments

  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions

  • Maintain health and safety documentation and training records

  • Promote wellbeing initiatives and safe working practices

Performance Management

  • Support performance management processes, including probation, reviews and performance improvement plans

  • Advise managers on managing underperformance and development needs

  • Ensure performance processes are applied consistently and fairly

Policy Management & Compliance

  • Maintain and update People & Culture policies and procedures for day-to-day operational changes

  • Ensure policies reflect current legislation and organisational practice

  • Support communication and implementation of policy updates across the organisation

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on policy interpretation

People Operations & Administration

  • Produce standard and non-standard HR documentation and correspondence

  • Contribute to audits, reporting and compliance activities

  • Support continuous improvement of people processes and employee experience

Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years+ experience in a People Operations, HR Advisor, or similar role

  • Relevant qualifications in HR will be a distinct advantage

  • Strong knowledge of employee relations processes and employment legislation

  • Confidence advising managers on performance management

  • Experience coordinating health and safety processes and compliance

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience updating and maintaining HR policies

  • Experience working in a regulated or complex environment

  • Professional, pragmatic, and solutions-focused

  • Calm and confident when handling sensitive issues

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Approachable, discreet and values-driven

    Desirable:

  • Experience contributing to HR strategy and change initiatives
