Thank you so much for signing up to Pieta's November Cold Water Challenge. We are so grateful for your support which will help us maintain our free, nationwide services for people who are experiencing suicidal ideation, engaging in self-harm or those who have been bereaved by suicide. Q. What is Pieta’s November Cold Water Challenge? A. Pieta’s November Challenge is to swim, dip, or shower in cold water for 30 seconds everyday throughout the month of November. Get started on Novemeber 1st and finish on November 30th.

 Q. How do I take part? A. Sign up for the November challenge and get your FREE t-shirt here.

Q. How do I start fundraising for my challenge?  A. Create a Facebook fundraiser here.

Q. Is there a Facebook Group for this challenge?  A. Yes – you can join the Facebook Group and share updates on your progress with other people in the Pieta community here.   

Q. Why have some people in the Facebook Group started the challenge already?A. Some people may have started embracing cold water and fundraising for the challenge before November 1st, but most people are starting the challenge on November 1st and sharing the journey together! 

Q. How do I track the 30 seconds?

You will receive a tracker in the post and this will help you keep a tally of the 30 seconds.  

Q. Do I have to swim for the challenge? The challenge can be done in the bath, shower or any body of safe water.

Q. I don’t want to create a Facebook fundraiser – what can I do? Pieta is using Facebook for the November Cold Water challenge. It’s the easiest way to fundraise and helps us keep all the funds raised on the same platform :) You can register your Facebook fundraiser here.

Q. Can I get sponsorship cards? A. Unfortunately, we don’t have any sponsorship cards for this event. We are using Facebook to support participants and set up online donations.  

Q. Can I do a shorter/longer/earlier/later challenge? A. Yes! Every 30 seconds will help Pieta. So, do this challenge in whatever way works best for you. Every person walking for Pieta is very much appreciated! 

 Q. When will my T-shirt arrive? A. T-shirts will be posted out and It will roughly take 3-4 working days for your T-shirt to arrive. If you are experiencing major delays, please e-mail challenges@pieta.ie  

Q. I still haven't got my t-shirt yet, where is it? A. Sorry you haven't received your t-shirt yet. You can email your details to challenges@pieta.ie and we'll check this. Or, if you're not 100% sure you have NOT already given us your full address and Eircode, you can provide it here.

 Q. What about my friends who aren't on Facebook? Can they donate? A. Facebook makes it very easy for people to donate, but you have to be a Facebook user. If they want to give you the money directly, you can donate by sending on this link to Just Giving

 Q. My friends donation isn't showing up on my FB Fundraiser? A. Most donations appear instantly. But sometimes it takes up to 48 hours if they donated via PayPal or if they have slow broadband. But let us know if it still isn't showing in 48 hours and we'll see what we can do. E-mail us at challenges@pieta.ie 

Q. I can't find my Facebook Fundraiser, can you tell me where it is? A. No problem! If you go to your own Facebook Profile Page and scroll down, you'll find it there. Or you can click on this link to manage "Your active Fundraisers" - https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/manage 

Q. My confirmation email didn’t arrive? A. If you registered here, you should have received your confirmation e-mail. Please e-mail us at challenges@pieta.ie if you have not received this

Q. How can I do this challenge safely?

 The safety of all participants is our number one concern if you are concerned about embarking on this challenge please consult your GP. If you want to learn more about water safety please visit RNLI.
